Wallabies utility back Kurtley Beale has been taken into custody on Friday for an alleged sexual assault of a woman in Sydney in December.

Wallabies utility back Kurtley Beale has been taken into custody on Friday for an alleged sexual assault of a woman in Sydney in December.

According to reports out of Australia, a 28-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted at a licensed venue, believed to be in a toilet of Beach Road Hotel apopular barin Bondi Beach, Sydney, on 17 December 2022.

The victim immediately reported the incident and police have since investigated the matter and today arrested Beale after stopping his car on Rainbow Road, Kingsford, around 2.30pm.

The 34-year-old Wallabies playmaker has been taken to Waverley Police Station where he is currently being questioned and is expected to be charged.

In response to Beales arrest, Rugby Australia, the NSW Waratahs and Rugby Union Players Association released ajoint statementconfirming they are aware of the situation.

Rugby Australia, the NSW Waratahs and Rugby Union Players Association (RUPA) are aware of the situation involving Kurtley Beale, the joint statement read.

As this is a police matter, and we understand there has been no charge made, we will be making no further comment at this time.

Beale has played most of his career withthe NSW Waratahs but also had a short spell at Melbourne Rebels. He joined French team Racing 92 on a two-year deal in 2020. At the conclusion of his contract he returnedhome to the Waratahs.

Beale was one of 44 players named earlier this month for a Wallabiesfour-day camp on the Gold Coast, with the Rugby World Cup looming in September.

He has played more than 90 games for the Wallabies in a career that spans more than 10 years.

The alleged incident took place just a couple of months after Beale and his wife welcomed, Maddie, their first child.
