Pablo Villanueva and Antonio Rodriguez are set to join Unai Emery atAston Villaas the new boss looks to confirm his backroom coaching staff, according to reports.
Emery, 50, has been confirmed as Steven Gerrards successor with the Villa owners acting swiftly in their search for a significant upgrade on the previous regime, in a bid to deliver the continuous progress they have so desperately searched for since the departure of Dean Smith last November.
The new Villa boss will take charge of the club from November 1, meaning interim boss Aaron Danks will be at the helm ahead of the upcoming clash with Newcastle United on Saturday (3pm kick off), as he searches for his second win in charge of the club following the 4-0 victory against Brentford.

In the meantime, Emery will be going over the finer details of his preparation to take over, which will include the finalisation of his backroom team. According toThe Times, Villanueva and Rodriguez are set to join Emery at Villa, with the former Villarreal boss also keen to add video analyst Victor Mañas to the team.
Villanueva has worked with Emery at Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Sevilla and Villarreal whilst Rodriquez worked as a technical assistant at The Yellow Submarine and is expected to make the move. Elsewhere, Mañas has joined Emery in all of his roles after meeting in Almeria over 14 years ago with a move to Villa now also on the cards.
Finally, 23-year-old Jaime Arias is also said to be being considered for a coaching role after impressing at Villarreal and Real Oviedos youth team.
